2.5

Dear Oliver,

It has been too long since I've updated your blog. You are such a big boy now! At 2.5, you're doing so much. You are an incredibly smart kid, and it isn't just us who think so. Everyone tells us you seem advanced and are really smart.

Proud of the sun you drew with chalk on your table.
  • You sing the ABC song all the time.
  • You know and recognize letters. You can pick out any letter of the alphabet and tell us what it is - capital or lower case.
  • You can draw some letters: O, Q, P, H
  • You can count to ten and you sometimes count to eleven.
  • You recognize numbers 1-10.
  • You can draw the number 10.
  • You know several signs. Some of the newest are old, new, panda, bike, bug, rhinoceros
  • You are always telling us "I love you" and showing us the sign for it. It's awesome.
  • You like to pretend to be asleep. Sometimes on the way home from daycare, you close your eyes in your car seat and pretend to be snoring.
  • You LOVE peanut butter and like to eat it with a spoon. Sometimes you call it "peanut butter butter" or "dip."
  • You are a really good eater and love fruits and veggies. You LOVE carrots - raw or cooked, fresh pineapple (you don't care for canned pineapple), olives, graham crackers, and milk.
  • When you wake up in the morning, you come into our room and lay by us in our bed for a few minutes. Then you say you're hungry and start listing off your breakfast requests. You say, "I want avcado (avocado) and fruit and pineapple and cheese and milk and cereal." You basically list anything you can think of. It's cute.
  • You love to sing from "Wee Sing" books. These books have printed music in them and you like mom or dad to sing the song and help you follow along with your finger. Sometimes you take my finger or daddy's finger and help lead our fingers through the song.
  • You ask us to "hold you." So cute.
  • You know there is a baby in mommy's tummy but I don't quite think you know what that means. You ask me to hold you when going upstairs and lately I've been telling you I can't because there is a baby in mommy's tummy. So lately when we've been going upstairs, you've been saying, "Mommy can't hold you.  Baby in mommy's tummy."
  • You are doing so great with potty training! You go in the potty more than you go in your underwear / diaper. You wear big boy underwear most of the time now (other than when you are sleeping or at church).
  • You are getting really good at brushing your teeth.
  • You like your new daycare provider, Sandy. She is in our ward. You love her kids and get upset when we have to leave.
  • You recently got a  red tricycle and you love riding it around the block during our evening walks.
  • You love playing with your friends, Kade Wilkins and Zarin Scott.
  • You are a happy boy and bring so much sunshine to our lives. We can't believe how much energy you have. It makes us exhausted just watching you.
