28 months old

Dear Oliver,

I love this picture of you.  It is so true to life - your pj shirt and diaper, your feet crossed, pretending to talk on the phone (or you may have actually been talking to Grandma or Daddy), your Elmo doll behind  you, your shoes, which you turned toward each other, mommy and daddy's bed not made.

  • You use the word "now" a lot lately.  For example, you say, "Gecko (your stuffed animal) fell now" or "hair now" (when you find a hair).
  • You say, "Holy Cow," "Holy Molly," and "Holy Crab" (a word Daddy taught you to use instead of "crap," which you had heard and tried to use before).  You make the sign for a crab when you say this.
  • You love making monkey sounds and actions.
  • You put your Gecko in time out and hold him there.
  • You sleep in a big boy toddler bed now.
  • You love dancing.
  • You are a smart boy - smart enough to be deceptive already.  We are working on potty training and you get a treat when you go in your little potty.  Recently you filled the removable cup with water and brought it to daddy and said, "I go potty.  I get a treat."  Admittedly, it's pretty darn cute and shows how intelligent you are.
  • You know your ABCs and say them other than the last three.
  • Your favorite number is ten.  You like to sign it.
  • You love the Sesame Street website (especially the Rubber Duck Regae song and Wheels on the bus video).
  • You love to build towers with mega blocks.
  • You still love trains.
  • You love bubble baths.
  • You love watching Elmo Potty, Signing Time, the train show (footage of different kinds of  trains) and Thomas.
  • You do pretty good going potty most of the time with the help of treats.
  • You aren't a big fan of underwear.
  • You make the "I love you" sign a lot - mommy and daddy make this sign to you too.
  • You're talking in full sentences now ie. "I go poop in the potty, Daddy, again" "Mommy, I want milk."
  • You are good about going potty during Nursery at church but I think you sometimes take advantage of it to get mommy to take you out of Nursery.  Another example of what a smartie you are.
  • You have been waking up between 5-6 am lately.  Mommy doesn't love that.
  • Daddy has a red truck.  Every time you see a red truck when we are out and about you say, "I see Daddy now."
  • You love tunnels, bridges and making pillow / couch cushion forts with Daddy.
  • You say excuse me when you pass gas, burp or sneeze.  You are a polite little kid.
  • You love to hold Mommy or Daddy's hand while in the car.
We love you Oliver!

Love, Mom
