May 2015

  • After reading a very condensed version of the miracle of Jesus healing the blind man by having him wash his eyes with mud, you were laying in bed and said, "I know! We can put mud on baby sister's eye and then it will grow big like her other eye!" It was pretty cute. A couple of minutes later, you asked, "Did Jesus have power when he was my age?" Dad also said the other day you said, "Jesus has the Priest Power" (instead of Priesthood).
  • Lately you've been talking about death. The other night you were laying in bed and I was tickling you back. You said, "What if I die and you and daddy and Joshua and Norah are still alive?" "Well, buddy, that would be so sad. We would miss you and be very sad. But there's some really good news, too. Did you know mommy and daddy were sealed in the temple when we were married? That means that no matter what, our family will always, always be together. We might be separated for a little while when we die but then we will be together again, forever." As the realization of this sank in, a huge, genuine smile spread across your face. "Really? We're always going to be a family, no matter what?" You gave me a huge hug. It was pretty awesome to witness this realization for the first time. (When I told your dad, he told me he was jealous he missed the conversation.)
  • We went to Enchanted Island in Phoenix the other day. (A very small amusement park.) It was your first time at an amusement park and you were thrilled. Your favorite rides were the roller coaster, spinning cups (although you looked sick while on them - they were going very fast) and helicopters. You enjoyed the train ride, too.
In front of the train. (It's funny that you have daddy's computer stickers on your shirt.)

This was the best "selfie" shot I could get of the four of us on the train (dad had to work) while holding a heavy SLR camera in one hand and a baby in the other arm.
