April 2015

Dear Oliver,

A few highlights from this month:
  • After telling you about Eleanor's eye (she was born with an eye abnormality called Microphthalmia, which basically means her right eye stopped developing at 20 weeks in utero and will always be about half the size of her left eye), you said, "Heavenly Father is going to ask us to help her way more than other girls and boys." Later you said, "Heavenly Father knows more than us." (You may have heard dad say something along the same lines but it was still pretty cute.)
  • Out of the blue one day, you said, "I wonder who my wife is going to be. Is a wife a mom? Then I'll have a special ring."
  • Your hair was getting long. Daddy said to you (in a fun, boisterous voice), "I shall call you hairlong!" You laughed and laughed. I laughed, too. It was pretty funny.
  • You said to me, "I especially love your mom, Mom."
  • We went on a special "Mommy/Oliver date." (Although you are such a daddy's boy, you asked if you could go with him instead...I'm glad you love your dad so much.) It was a "Superhero Dance" (Girl's Camp Fundraiser), held at the Stake Center. I let you pick out some capes online, which I ordered for us. We danced, played with balloons (trying not to let them touch the ground), played some games, took some pictures and had some snacks. We both had a lot of fun (it took me back to the days of youth dances, which I loved, even though this was a much younger crowd). Your favorite song to dance to was Y.M.C.A. I taught you how to do the actions. That was always a favorite of mine, as well. :)

A few pictures from making Easter treats while Daddy was at the Priesthood Session of General Conference:

And one cute quote from March: You were eating a bag of baby carrots in the living room (a favorite snack). You said, "I can put the carrots away now. I can see really well."

I love you! Mom
