Four Months Old

Dear Oliver,

At four months old, you:

* had your first haircut, right before this picture was taken (there was a long strand in the front that I had to trim but I left the rest alone)
* pull your right foot up with your right hand
* suck on three fingers and sometimes try to fit both hands in your mouth
* only wake up once in the night between midnight and 7:30 or 8:00 am
* smile most of the time
* love your routine at night: swaddled, lights off with the little dinosaur lamp on and Elizabeth Mitchell's You Are My Little Bird playing. Sometimes we have the fan on too, if it's warm out. This pretty much puts you right to sleep when you're tired and makes it difficult for you to sleep in other environments
* laugh a lot
* prefer standing to sitting
* walk forward with help (while we hold your arms)
* love going on walks in your stroller
* "talk" all the time
* aren't a big cuddler but will cuddle sometimes on my shoulder when you're tired (which I love)
* are very curious about everything around you
* love looking at lights and out windows
* pull out your binky and try to put it back in
* roll to your left side when you sleep
* have pretty much rubbed most of your hair off - you have crazy hair that sticks up on top with a bald strip in the back
* will go to anyone
* are generally a very happy baby

We've decided that four months is pretty much the golden age. You're so much fun - very interactive and happy. I am thankful for you every day.
